Product Care & Maintenance

Proper care and maintenance are crucial for extending the lifespan of your outdoor furniture. Covering or storing these pieces when not in use can help prevent fading and other damage. In general, all our products are low maintenance. For specific questions, please contact us at hello@sissonneoutdoor.com.au.

General Cleaning

For most surfaces, regular cleaning with mild soap and water is sufficient. Use a soft cloth or sponge and rinse thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or pressure washers that may damage finishes.

Teak

Teak naturally weathers to a silver-grey patina over time. To maintain the original honey color, apply teak oil or sealer 2-3 times per year. Clean with a teak cleaner before oiling. For weathered teak, use a teak brightener to restore color before sealing.

Note: When maintaining teak, ensure teak stain does not come into contact with rope or fabric, as this may cause permanent staining.

Ecolene® (Synthetic Wicker, Rattan, Synthetic Water Hyacinth)

Ecolene synthetic wicker is UV-resistant and weather-resistant. Clean with mild soap and water using a soft brush to reach between weaves. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive scrubbing that may damage the finish.

Olefin Fabric

Olefin fabric is stain-resistant and fade-resistant. For routine cleaning, brush off loose dirt and spot clean with mild soap and water. For tougher stains, use a solution of 1 part bleach to 4 parts water. Rinse thoroughly and air dry. Machine washing is not recommended.

Quick Dry Reticulated Foam

Quick-dry foam is designed to drain water rapidly. Hose down cushions and allow to air dry in a well-ventilated area. For deep cleaning, use mild soap and water, rinse thoroughly, and squeeze out excess water. Stand cushions on edge to promote faster drying.

Marine-Grade Rope

Marine-grade rope is weather-resistant and UV-protected. Clean with mild soap and water using a soft brush. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry. Inspect rope regularly for signs of wear or fraying. Avoid harsh chemicals that may degrade the fibers.
Keep sharp objects away from ropes to avoid cutting or fraying.
