Eden Dining Table (Round) - Sissonne Outdoor Dining Table teak

Sustainable A-Grade Teak

During the 1840’s, the Dutch originally planted the Javanese teak forests, which are huge plantation tracts, with mature old growth teak trees harvested for timber. These plantations are under the control of the Indonesian government who strictly control the output of these plantations and carefully manage the reforestation effort. Due to the natural compounds that exist in this hardwood, teak wood offers incredible benefits over other natural materials for use in outdoor furniture. Natural oils and rubbers help to protect this hardwood from pest damage, moisture retention, and UV damage, and help it to continue to look good for many seasons. Unlike lesser grades of teak or other hardwoods or softwoods, Indonesian A-grade teak maintains its integrity as it weathers gracefully while resisting degradation. The natural tendency for A-Grade teak is to dull to a beautiful silvery-grey patina which develops over time in natural conditions including sunlight and ambient moisture, making it the ideal wood for outdoor furniture. All timber products in the Sissonne collections are constructed with A-grade teak which is farmed from the premium, centre-cut of the teak tree and is the finest teak available.

Sunproof All-Weather Fabric

Woven from 100% solution dyed olefin yarn, solution dyeing is a clean manufacturing process as the colour is added before the yarn is extruded. It is friendly to the environment because no dye bath processes are used, eliminating waste effluents, which may pollute air and waterways. Resistant to UV damage and fading. Sunproof applies excellent ultraviolet blocking agents which protect the polymer backbone of the fabric from the effect of UV radiation. Perfect for all outdoor applications, Sunproof is proven to have a strong ability to withstand the effects of prolonged exposure to sunlight, wind, rain and humidity. Sunproof is available in a wide-range of fabrics and colourways, is long-lasting and 100% recyclable.

Marine-Grade Rope

All Sissonne Outdoor products use high quality marine-grade rope, which is specifically designed to withstand the harsh Australian climate. It is highly durable and resistant to UV rays, moisture and salt making it ideal for indoor and outdoor furniture even in the most exposed rural and coastal environs. It is available in a range of colours and styles, meaning it is not only practical and strong but looks fabulous when incorporated into furniture pieces.

Reticulated 'Quick Dry' Foam

Quick Dry Foam (QDF) is a premium foam specifically designed for outdoor use. QDF has an open-cell structure, which allows water and air to pass through the material quickly, allowing cushions to dry fast - even after being saturated – whilst protecting against mould growth. The open structure of the Quick Dry Foam also means that dirt, dust and irritants are less likely to get trapped in the structure of the cushion and when dirt is noticeable, it can easily be cleaned with a light hose down, aired on their side and will quickly dry out. QDF comes in a range of thicknesses and firmness. Typically, a firmer foam would be used on the seat cushion and a softer foam on the back cushion. All Weather fabric covers are applied over the cushions and typically mesh panels are inserted in the bottom of the cushion cover to allow the air/water flow through and optimise drying time.

Fibreglass

Our fibreglass collection represents the intersection of industrial strength and artisanal craftsmanship. A high-performance composite traditionally reserved for the demanding maritime industry favoured for its use in boats and surfboards fibreglass is the ultimate material for enduring the most challenging outdoor elements. Each piece is a labour of time and precision. Our skilled craftsmen meticulously hand-layer fibreglass mats with high-grade resin into complex 3D moulds, a bespoke process that takes several days to complete for a single stool. This method allows us to achieve sculptural, fluid shapes that would be impossible with traditional materials, resulting in a silhouette that is as much a work of art as it is a functional seat. To ensure total stability in windy conditions, each stool is reinforced with a concrete base, providing a grounded, architectural feel. Finished in a curated palette of colours and textures, our fibreglass pieces offer a unique, stunning aesthetic that is completely weather-resistant, moisture-proof, and colourfast, ensuring they remain a focal point of your outdoor space for years to come.

Crochet

Our Crochet collection is a celebration of heritage craft reimagined through modern material innovation. Each unique outer cover is meticulously handmade by a single artisan, using a lone crochet hook and a week of concentrated, skilled labour. This slow-crafted approach results in intricate, gorgeously shaped patterns that bring a tactile, sculptural dimension to your living space. Woven from specific thermoplastic polypropylene (PP) rope fibres, our crochet has been engineered to meet the highest standards for both indoor and outdoor performance. Unlike traditional yarns, these innovative fibres are solution-dyed for deep, lasting colour and are entirely free from PVC. The result is a material that is as durable as it is beautiful soft to the touch yet incredibly strong. Designed for effortless living, each piece features a breathable polyester inner cover filled with premium polystyrene beads, ensuring ergonomic comfort. With dual zippered covers for easy maintenance and a build that resists UV exposure, moisture, and mildew, our Crochet pieces offer a stunning, artisanal aesthetic that thrives in even the most demanding outdoor environments.

Teak (Ebony & Charcoal)

By choosing our Teak collection, you have acquired a natural and unique timber product of unparalleled pedigree. A deciduous hardwood sourced from the highlands of Southeast Asia, Teak is world-renowned for its exceptionally high natural oil content. This organic saturation makes the timber inherently stable and resistant to rotting, even when exposed to the most punishing climatic extremes—a quality that has made Teak the preferred choice for marine decking and premium outdoor furniture for centuries. Our commitment to sustainability is as steadfast as the timber itself. Every piece is crafted from FLEGT-licensed timber from Indonesia, with legality assured through Indonesia’s national timber legality assurance system (V-Legal) and the EU-backed FLEGT licensing scheme. This ensures that your furniture is not only beautiful but ethically sourced and environmentally responsible. Each piece of furniture possesses its own distinct character and grain structure. As a living, breathing material, Teak may develop fine cracks in the end grain—such as on legs or laminated tops—as it breathes and reacts to changes in temperature and humidity. Known as "checking," these small fissures are a natural characteristic of heavy timber components and do not affect the structural integrity or serviceability of your furniture. In our Ebony and Charcoal finishes, these natural nuances add to the sophisticated, architectural depth of the piece.
