Most fabrics are woven first and then dipped in a dye bath. This only colors the surface of the yarn—much like a radish that is red on the outside but white in the middle. Over time, the sun bleaches that surface layer, leading to faded, tired-looking cushions.
Sunproof® uses a process called solution-dyeing. The color is mixed into the liquid polymer before the fibers are even created. This means the color is locked into the very core of the thread.
